VUMA.EARTH puts the power in your hands. This is your space to run campaigns about the environmental issues you care about.

If you have an idea to make your community, or the world, a better place, this platform gives you the tools to make that happen.

Meaning "to be in agreement" in southern African Nguni languages and "to spread [news] like wildfire", VUMA encapsulates both concepts of “Awareness” and “Consensus” in both regionally prominent languages.

You can:

  • Start a petition
  • Spread the word on social media
  • Collect signatures on paper
  • Email your supporters
  • Organise events
  • Ask for help from the VUMA.EARTH team
  • Become part of a network of African citizens ready to defend the environment

This website exists to promote positive social change, to protect the environment and to challenge injustice.

Petitions on this site are started and run by members of the public. Greenpeace Africa hosts the VUMA.EARTH website, but campaigns here are not necessarily endorsed by the organisation.

Joining an Effort

Not everyone knows where to start when creating a petition, but that shouldn't stop you from taking a stand. Efforts are groups of petitions that support the same cause. The prescribed petition text makes easy for you to start your own local campaign.

If you feel strongly about any of the Efforts below, sign them, share them, and perhaps even start your own:
